17 Light

The 17 Light Restaurant, Bar, and Lounge, located in downtown Baltimore near the Inner Harbor, is definitely designed to impress and judging by the reactions of visitors, it manages to do just that. Architect | DKMB (Architect of Design and Record) made sure to provide easy access for all patrons and visitors while maintaining a regal and majestic feel.  The project presented many design challenges to include ADA access, placement of walk-in coolers and freezers, as well as locating beer taps on the level below with pump lines core drilled through the concrete slab to new bar area. We encourage you to come see this masterpiece whenever you get the chance. Contact us to learn more about this type of project.

Banneker Museum Exhibit Design

Architect | DKMB & Associates provided the necessary exhibit research, planning, and design for Baltimore County’s Department of Parks & Recreation, Banneker Museum & Historical Park’s Phase I & II exhibition project. The exhibition design required inclusion of multi-media equipment, with interactive components, incorporation of various significant archeological and nature artifacts, life-size replica settings, historical objects, publications, and maps. The required conceptual documents were for exhibits to be housed within the museum’s 1,400 square feet Reception Gallery and 900 square feet Banneker Gallery. The Davage Residence

A residential home with over 4000 square feet of space, which was constructed to replace the previous that was demolished, and located in Towson, Maryland. The project required the follow professional services: Architecture (Conceptual Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Drawings, and Bidding & Negiotiation) and Construction Management (Bidding, Progress Payments, Respond to RFI's, Owner Change Request, Construction Observation, etc.). Adventure Dental Clinic DC - II

A relocation and tenant fitout project located in Washington, the District of  Columbia. The project relocated Adventure Dental Clinic DC - I (DKMB & Associates was Architect of Record for both projects) to a new strip mall leased space, due to the existing location being redeveloped by the property developer. Architectural Programming for the new tenant fitout space included a Reception Area, Receptionist Area, Kids Gaming Area, Offices, X-Ray Rooms, Exam Rooms, Supply Rooms, Break Room, ADA Restrooms, and other dental/medical related spaces. Lusby House Renovation

A Residential Renovation project located in Prince George's County, Maryland. The architectural programming included the alteration and renovation of the 1st Floor Kitchen and Bathroom, while the entire Basement was redesigned and built-out with a New Entry Foyer, New Utility Room, New Utility Closet, New Bathroom, New Hallways, New Closets, New Multi-Purpose Room, New Bedroom, and New HVAC Room. Contact us to learn more about this type of project.

Coley Residence Restoration

A Residential Restoration Project located in Washington, District of Columbia. The home was damaged by fire and the restoration work involved removal of all Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FFE) and the demolition of interior 2nd and 3rd levels - floor/wall/ceiling coverings down to structure. The rooms and spaces, affected by fire, on these two levels were restored to their original condition, per the building codes in affect within the District of Columbia.

Brewton House Addition

A combination Fire-Restoration of an existing home and construction of a new Addition to same residence located in Prince George's County, Maryland. We provided Architect of Design and Architect of Record services for this residential project. Contact us to learn more of about this type of project.

Dunloring House Restoration

A Residential Restoration project located in Prince George's County, Maryland. The restoration endeavor involved the demolition of the existing fire damaged home down to the foundation walls. Architectural Programming included a new basement, 1st level, and 2nd level with all new MEP systems, equipment, appliances, cabinetry, etc. Contact us to learn more about this type of a project.

Monument Street Restoration

A Commercial Space Restoration project located in Baltimore City, Maryland. The existing 3,145 square foot building was damaged by miscellaneous construction activity by a 3rd party, which required both levels of leaseable space to be restored. Architectural Programming included redesigning existing spaces to bring up to current code and the repair of existing flooring, walls, ceilings, and installation of a new ADA restroom. Unit Restoration at Eaton Square

A unit on the top floor of this apartment complex in Prince George's County, Maryland was damaged by fire. Our work involved developing Restoration Permit Documents to restore the damaged unit. Architectural Programming included an entry foyer, living room, dining room, two bedrooms, and one bathroom within a 685 square foot unit. Contact us to learn more about this type of project.

A Tenant Fitout and Expansion Project located in Aberdeen, Maryland. The architectural programming includes Checkout Area, Office, Retail Sales Area, Merchandising Display Areas, Be erage Self-Service Areas, Storage Areas, and Ancillary Spaces. Supermercado Campos

A design project, which incorporated the relocation of an existing and successful Convenience Store, to a new and expanded location. The space is a Convenience Store and Restaurant. Our design made sure to provide easy access for all patrons, visitors, and diners. Architectural programming includes Checkout Area, Dining Areas, Private Dining, Full Service Kitchen, Storage Rooms, Restrooms, Coat Check Area, Employee Break Area, and Offices. We encourage you, next time in Aberdeen, to come and visit. Thurmont Apartments Repair

An Exterior Repair project for an apartment complex located in Frederick County, Maryland. The existing Classical Railings and Posts were in disrepair and required architectural services in order to receive a building permit. This was an interesting small project for us to design. Edgewood Community Rehab

A Residential Rehabilitation project located in Baltimore City, Maryland. The existing residence's small rear addition was in antiquated condition and in need of repair. We provided Construction Management Services to repair the existing foundation base, rebuilt and sistered the existing framing, removed and replaced blankett insulation, removed and replaced exterior sheathing, installed new bulding wrap and flashing, and removed and installed new vinyl siding. Blackford Residence Restoration

A Residential Restoration project located in Washington, the District of Columbia. The home is a middle of group townhouse, damaged by fire from an adjacent home (see image of boarded windows at house where fire originated), which affected existing gypsum board ceiling assemblies, skylights, windows, and an isolated area of the roofing assembly. Coleman Residence Restoration

A Residential Restoration Project located in Washington, District of Columbia. The home was damaged by a large tree collapsing and the restoration work involved removal of all interior Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FFE). The tree fell and went through the middle of the existing residence and required the demolition of entire roofing assembly, double top plate at exterior wall perimeter and the stripping down to studs and joists at floor/wall/ceiling coverings in the attic and 1st/2nd floor areas, . The rooms and spaces, damaged by the falling tree, were restored to their original condition, per the building codes in affect within the District of Columbia.

10th Street Condominiums - Laundry Room

A Condominium Restoration Project located in Washington, District of Columbia. The restoration work involved the Laundry Room on 1st Floor, which was damaged by fire. Restoration work included removal of all laundry equipment and the demolition of floor/wall/ceiling coverings down to structure. The Laundry Room was restored to its original condition, pre-fire, per the building codes in affect within the District of Columbia.

California Street Condos - 3 Floor Unit

A Condominium Restoration Project located in Washington, District of Columbia. The restoration work involved a unit on the 3rd Floor, damaged by fire, the removal of all Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FFE) and the demolition of interior unit floor/wall/ceiling coverings down to structure. All of the rooms and spaces were restored to their original condition, pre-fire, per the building codes in affect within the District of Columbia.

Raleigh Avenue Restoration - I

A Phase I of two phases for an existing 4-Level Apartment Complex in Alexandria, Virginia. For Phase I, the exterior envelope was restored to include demo of 3rd and 4th floor windows in the unit where fire originated. In addition, the entire roof covering system was demo'd down to existing roof structural substrate and damaged roof rafters were also removed. Over 18 new roof trusses were installed along with one end-gable truss. A brand new roofing assembly was installed to complete the exterior envelope phase of this restoration effort. Baritone House Restoration

A Residential House Restoration project, located in Montgomery County, Maryland, which was damaged by fire. The restoration work included the demolition of interior floor/ceiling coverings down to joists and wall coverings down to stud. All interior spaces on all three (3) levels were restored to the original pre-fire conditions, per the building codes in affect within the authority having jurisdiction. Contact us to learn more about this type of project.

A change-in-use Tenant Fitout project located in Aberdeen, Maryland. Specific architectural programming included Checkout Area, Merchandising Displays, Refrigerated Merchandisers, ADA Restroom, Utility Closet, Storage Area, and Accessible Aisleways. Contact us to learn more about this type of project.

Hair and Beauty Salon

A Tenant Fitout project in Harford County, Maryland, which changed the prior Retail use to a Hair and Beauty Salon. New architectural programming included Checkout Area, Waiting Area, Washing Area, Styling Area, Drying Area, Kitchenette Area, and other Ancillary Areas. Contact us to learn more about this type of project.
